Refund & Cancellation Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective date: June 11, 2026

atorni (atorni AI) is an artificial intelligence tool. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and is not a substitute for consultation with a licensed lawyer.

This policy forms part of the Terms of Use. It is written to be fair to both parties: you keep everything you paid for, you can leave at any time, and the rights Philippine law gives you are never taken away.

1. How billing works

Paid plans are billed per period (pay-as-you-go) through QR Ph — you scan the code with your e-wallet or banking app and pay for the billing period you select (monthly or annual). There is no saved card and no automatic charge: each payment covers exactly one period.

When a period ends, your plan simply returns to the Free tier unless you pay again to renew. We email you a reminder before your plan expires, with a link to renew — nothing is ever charged automatically.

Card auto-renew is coming soon. When it is available you will be able to opt in to a card subscription that renews automatically for successive equal periods at the then-current rate until you cancel, with a renewal reminder emailed at least seven (7) days before each automatic renewal stating the date, amount, and how to cancel. The sections below note where the rules differ between pay-as-you-go (QR Ph) and card auto-renew.

2. Ending your plan

(a) Pay-as-you-go (QR Ph). There is nothing to cancel. Because each payment covers a single period and nothing renews automatically, you simply choose not to pay again. You keep full access through the end of the period you paid for, after which your plan returns to the Free tier. You are never charged for a period you did not pay for.

(b) Annual plans. If you prepaid for an annual period and wish to stop early, you may request a refund of your unused months. The months you have used — including the month in progress, which counts as a full month — are charged at the regular monthly rate; the one-month-free annual discount applies only if you complete the full year. Your access continues to the end of the month in progress, and the refund is returned to your original payment method.

Example: you paid for a Basic annual plan (₱4,290/year) and request to stop after three months. The three months used are charged at the regular monthly rate (3 × ₱390 = ₱1,170), and your refund is ₱4,290 − ₱1,170 = ₱3,120.

Card auto-renew (coming soon). Once card subscriptions are available you will be able to cancel at any time from your billing settings or by emailing support@atorni.ph. A canceled monthly subscription stays active to the end of the current period and is not billed again; a canceled annual subscription follows the unused-months refund in paragraph (b).

3. Refunds

(a) Voluntary cancellation. On a monthly payment, because you retain full access through the end of the period you paid for, that period’s fee is not refunded when you choose to stop a working, delivered service. On an annual plan, you are refunded your unused months as described in Section 2(b). Neither rule limits the situations in paragraph (c).

(b) 14-day money-back window. If this is your first paid subscription, you may cancel within fourteen (14) days of your first payment for a full refund, provided your usage in that window has stayed within reasonable evaluation use. Write to support@atorni.ph within the window and we will process the refund through your original payment method.

(c) Refunds we will always honor (these rights cannot be waived). Notwithstanding paragraph (a), you are entitled to a refund of fees for the affected period where:

  • the service was not delivered, or was materially unavailable for a substantial part of the period, due to our fault;
  • the service was materially defective or did not conform to what we advertised; or
  • we terminate or suspend your subscription for our convenience before the period ends — in which case we refund the unused prepaid portion on a pro-rata basis.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Act (Republic Act No. 7394), the Internet Transactions Act (Republic Act No. 11967), or other applicable Philippine law.

4. Plan changes

Upgrades take effect immediately. You pay only the prorated price difference between your new and current plan for the days remaining in your current period, computed by day, as a one-time QR Ph payment. Your current period keeps its existing end date; when you renew after that, you pay the new plan’s full rate. The exact prorated amount is shown before you pay.

Example: on day 15 of a 30-day Basic period (₱390/month), you upgrade to Mid (₱890/month). The prorated charge is (₱890 − ₱390) × 15⁄30 = ₱250, and your next renewal is at the Mid rate of ₱890.

Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period — you keep your current plan until then and the lower rate applies from the next renewal.

5. End of a period & missed renewals

On pay-as-you-go (QR Ph), nothing is charged automatically, so there is no failed payment to worry about: if you do not renew, your plan simply returns to the Free tier at the end of the period. Letting a plan lapse never deletes your data.

Card auto-renew (coming soon). If an automatic renewal charge fails, we will notify you and retry over a short grace period while your access continues. If payment still cannot be collected, the subscription is canceled and your account moves to the free tier — again, a failed payment never deletes your data.

6. Your data after cancellation

For sixty (60) days after cancellation you may export your data (conversations and uploaded documents) from the service or request a copy. After that window, we delete or de-identify your data in accordance with the Privacy Policy and the Data Privacy Act (Republic Act No. 10173), except where retention is required by law (for example, tax and billing records) or persists in routine backups, which expire on their normal cycle.

7. Billing complaints & redress

If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@atorni.ph. We aim to resolve billing complaints within seven (7) calendar days through our internal redress mechanism, as required by the Internet Transactions Act. If unresolved, you may escalate to the Department of Trade and Industry / E-Commerce Bureau or the proper Philippine courts.
